Did anyone hear the rumor that some of them may be converted to Coaches? I kind of find it odd that they would be, I figured it is more likely they may be held to be converted to Diner-Lounges.

304's equipment comes from KC. It could be tried, but would I? No.

In 2003, I took 3 Amtrak Trips, all 3 of them had AC Failers in a Horizon Coach, Superliner Sleeper (just my room) and a Pacific parlor car, at least the Toliets were in a Good State of Repair.

My feeling is that, our system is way over taxed especially our ATC system and compared to Europe and Asia, our Technology is in the Stone Age, once we fix it, it will be too late.

If Amtrak was smart they would have included the underside of the car in the Refurbishment. How does it improve a good state of repair when only doing seat cousions?

They look like a nice carrier. Remeber that orginally they wanted to have more foreign ownership than what was allowed, so they had to pluck Don Carty out of retirement and not use there first choice which was Fred Reid, but was allowed to stay for 6 Months though.

I'd be really suspiousis and would avoid buying them personally.
