Today the worst jobs in Amtrak have to to be the following:

1)Metro Lounge Attendant in CUS

2)Crew Members on #5 & #6 stuck in Snowbanks in NEB

3)Amtrak Reservation agent

4)PR Spokesperson for Amtrak in CHI

5)Relief Crews for #5 & #6 stuck who knows where

Lucky folks are like GML and other pax who got re-routed via SWC or maybe the TE (they're having problems too in Arkansas!!)??

Hope everyone is warm, has power and doesnt have to be outside this week! Were lucky here in CenTEX, its cold but the sun is out and no snow or ice! :D

And a few (ha, try 30 or more) years ago at Amtrak one of the worst was being an LSA assigned to work a train, that for some reason, had the cafe car pulled, and you had to operate a "panic box" cafe. Yuck. My feet hurt just thinking about it.

It can't be all that bad, seeing as how he's held that job for at least 15 to 20 years now. Marc Magliari has been the spokesperson for many years for Amtrak in Chicago.
Marc's a good guy and does a great job communicating with the press. Stuff like this just makes his day interesting.

Still not the worst. The worst is still the guy who has to empty the retention tanks. Even worse in the winter.

I respectfully disagree. I think it is much worse emptying retention tanks during the dog days of summer than it is during the dead of winter. There is something about 100 degree heat that makes dealing with CHT more unbearable than you can imagine.
