when will budget be done?

When might any budget compromise be hammered out? Is that done in the Spring or summer?

When will we get some idea as to whether the trains will run or not???

If the past few years is any inidication, the actual final budget might not be done until halfway through the next fiscal year.

Definitely. Amtrak is fully funded already until at least October 1, 2005.

I would not worry about making reservation past that time, either. This budget issue comes up every year and the same old thing happens. Your tickets would be fully refunded if anything were to happen to Amtrak.
