When Amtrak bustituted on NER from Boston to NYP i got refunded in cash.

I do wonder which day the OP traveled. Might give an insight into why the train was five hours late.

No way to know, but I do see that yesterday's 19 (Crescent) arrival was more than 4.5 hours late into Atlanta:

2013-12-09: Scheduled: 8:13 am Actual: 12:56 pm Delay: 282 minutes

Just received an email from my Congressman asking if I could please treat our "Amtrak Customers" with more respect.

I replied that as an "Amtrak Engineer", I was in the locomotive and had no responsibility for the mistreatment of passengers. :help:

But it was my fault that we were 5 hours late and I would apologize for that..
