Just curious if anyone has been on all the Amtrak routes. Not end to end, just on every one at least for a few stops. Northeast regionals excluded of course...
We do have Members that have Ridden Every Route! Of the Current Routes, I'm Short Three, The Silver Meteor, The Silver Star and the DownEaster! On my Trip in May to PHL for NTD I will get to Ride on All Three, so will Have 100% of the Current Routes!!!!Just curious if anyone has been on all the Amtrak routes. :hi: WOW , those Aussies really Know How to Travel!! We complain when there isnt an Amtrak Station in our Front Yard and they have to Travel 8,000 miles across the Pacific!I'm working on doing all the LD ones end to end but I've a ways to go yet. This summer I'm doing the EB (SEA-CHI) and the CZ (CHI-EMY) which I am really looking forward to. But I've already been on the Coast Starlight, Southwest Chief, Capitol Limited and Cardinal all end to end, plus the Silver Meteor (only DC-Charlston), Palmetto, Carolinian, Crescent, the regional at various times all up between Lynchburg and NYP ,the Woverine, Blue Water and the Pacific Surfliner (San Diego - Santa Barbara) so I'm feeling pretty accomplished so far given that I live in Australia
Thanks I just love trains. My parents took me on the Indian Pacific across Australia when I was 3, I guess it got me started (though I don't remember much ). I love how much of the country I've seen and how many people I've met through travelling around the US on the train. And a decade or so ago, I didn't even know you guys had long distance trains!:hi: WOW , those Aussies really Know How to Travel!! Similar to another one of our Members from England (Hi Ed! :hi: ) currently Touring the Colonies on another of his Global Troting Trips!
I am slowly working on doing just that. I have route 4 planned this November.Just curious if anyone has been on all the Amtrak routes. Not end to end, just on every one at least for a few stops. Northeast regionals excluded of course...
Everything except the Lake Country. I have been on the Southwest Chief 12 times this year alone, and set out again on Monday. Plus long gone trains like the Phoebe Snow, Tennesseean, Choctaw Rockette, Golden State, SF Chief, City of Los Angeles, and many more.Just curious if anyone has been on all the Amtrak routes. Cool for mentioning me. And you are right. That will change briefly when the Norfolk extension opens, and then change back when I ride the Norfolk extension.I think John Corbett has been on all Amtrak routes, end to end.
Interesting thread.
When did the Broadway Limited and Desert Wind end service?
Also, does anyone remember the trains which had huge women's lounges? Did the Broadway Limited have one of those?
Thanks for any info.
