I have been enjoying this forum so much! I watched some youtube videos last night and am so grateful that I am able to plan a train trip. I knew I always loved the train (even when I am stuck for 15 minutes in traffic due to freight cars going through my town!!). I cracked up at the term FOAMERS! I had seen it before, but just never knew what it meant! I think I am turning into a foamer!

Please help with the following:

(1) How can I put a signature/ticker with my posts?

(2) Is there a listing of forum/Amtrak acronyms anywhere here?

Thanks for any help!

Lisa

(1) How can I put a signature/ticker with my posts?
  • Click on your name in the top right hand corner
  • Click on "My settings"
  • Click on "Profile"
  • Click on "Change Signature"

(2) Is there a listing of forum/Amtrak acronyms anywhere here?
Most of the acronyms we use here are just shortened versions and self explanatory.

  • LSL = Lake Shore Limited
  • SL = Sunset Limited
  • CS = Coast Starlight
  • SSL = Sightseer Lounge
  • EB = Empire Builder
  • CZ = California Zephyr
  • CA = Coach Attendant or Car Attendant
  • SCA = Sleeping Car Attendant
  • LSA = Lead Service Attendant
  • SA = Service Attendant (usually the server in the Dining Car)
  • OBS = On Board Service (attendants - basically all staff on the train except Conductors and Engineers)

Station codes can be found on the main amtrak.com page - click "find a station". HINT: Many are the same as the airport code for that city!

If there are any you cant figure out, please post and ask!

Wow! Thanks for the quick reply! How can I put a ticket at the bottom, to count down til out trip? And also what is "OP"? :)
