Does anyone have a list of the current Amtrak board of directors? Further, does anyone know how to contact them? I'd like to contact them and give them an idea of what I think of the firing of Mr. Gunn.

Also, does anyone know who they are and how to contact that advisory committee that was talked about here several months ago?

The membership Amtrak's board of directors is included on Amtrak's web site (though the list obviously needs a bit of updating). The Amtrak president has a non-voting seat on the board.

As for the advisory committee that was mentioned on this forum, they would have no way of influencing the Board of Directors. The ACAC is mainly about discussing certain customer-service issues (but even then, they can't actually *do* anything about it). To be frank, the Amtrak Reform Board doesn't give a damn about what the ACAC thinks.

The board currently has only four voting members rather than the seven the law envisions.

(1) Chairman, Amtrak Board of Directors, David M. Laney, Esq. is the only one confirmed by the Senate. He's a lawyer in a Dallas Law Office - How strange?

(2) Norman Mineta or Jeffrey Rosen who represents the Secretary of Transportation

(3) Floyd Hall, and (4) Enrique Sosa - these two hold recess appointments whose terms will expire when Congress adjourns for the year.
