amtrak travel codes

My nephew is in "boot camp" at Great Lakes IL and my sister is trying to get together an Amtrak excursion from Parkersburg WV to IL as economically as possible. Amtrak mentions "codes" for the offer in which 2 people pay full fare & the 3rd person goes for 90% off? Is anyone familiar with this offer? Any info?

Both trains that run from West Virginia to Chicago (The Cardinal and the Capitol Limited) are currently featured on the "Weekly Specials" under the hot deals part of the Amtrak.com website. Check there to see if any good deals are available for when you want to travel. Good luck!
