#7 DVL ?

Is 7 running via DVL again? Would like to detrain there next week.....

The Service Advisory that I received on my iPhone Amtrak app indicates that the detour using the Surrey Cutoff for westbound trains is in effect through February 6, 2014.

I wouldn't count on it. I think the date mentioned in the advisory is a bit of a SWAG on the part of Amtrak. They

are at the mercy of BNSF on this one. When this was first implemented, an end date of Feb 2 was floated. That

has obviously come and gone. I think we'll see a rolling end date until one day it simply returns to its regular

route with no advance warning.

If it makes you feel any better, I had in-laws who were bustituted GFK-MOT last week to catch 7 in MOT and they

reported that the bus ride was uneventful and uncomplicated. The bus will be as late or as on-time as the train

is when it gets to FAR.

Ok thanks! If it is a bustitute I may just get off in Fargo and rent a car....destination is actually New Rockford....
