As of Monday 11/18 the new Van Nuys center platform is open. Still doing finishing touches, like finishing rails, but is used for boarding's.

The MTA Board yesterday approved the major upgrade to LAUS with Linkus. (https://la.streetsblog.org/2019/06/27/metro-board-approves-link-us-union-station-cut-through-tracks/). It includes a gratly expanded tunnel and run-through traks. Total cost about $2.3B.

The California High Speed Rail Authority has posted the release of the Draft RFP for Track and Systems. So begins the real rail. The RPF for Trainsets should be released next quarter. http://hsr.ca.gov/programs/track_and_systems.html

Some new pics of the center platform.  These are of the forms, excavation and concrete pour between the tracks that connect to the tunnel constructed under the south track.

The contractor started work today on the new between the tracks platform. It will completely replace the south side only platform. It will include a tunnel under the tracks and realigning the tracks from Woodman Ave to about Sepulveda Bl. About 18 months to complete.
