I changed trains in Charlottesville, in 1995 from the Cardinal to the Crescent. Had quite a wait in the (at that time dilapidated) station. The Cardinal pulled up pn one platform and the Crescent on the "curve" other platform.

I have to agree with jccollins. The SWC has it all for scenery plus its remarkable on time performance. anyone The CZ, for all of its beauty in the rockies, is usually so late, I can't imagine anyone actually being on it. What? it arrived in Chicago last night around 11:30 PM.

It came and went all too quickly. What a glorious time with my two youngest sons! We left the train station at Hutchinson right on time, 2:21 AM March 19, for Chicago in the coaches. The train moved about 1/4 mile and while the conductor was taking our tickets, I heard someone say something...

Is it worn out,or like the velcro on the curtains in every room we had on our recent trip, it just doesn't match theopposite piece. I can't for the life of me understand how difficult it would be to match those peices of velcro so they will actually attach to each other and hold the curtain...

They kept announcing on #3 that there were no empty seats, to keep belongings off empty seats as they will be used. The train was full, (Spring Break). So were the Sleepers. On 30 & 29 almost every stop needed to make two stops; one for sleeper and one for coach.

Just got home this morning from our Philadelphia trip. As far as #29 is concerned, the Dinner was pretty good. The boys had the special, Salisbury steak and mashed potatoes and I had the braised beef and baked potato with broccoli and it was really pretty good. Breakfast I had the cheich or...

I just checked and #4 is right on time at LaJunta CO so should be on time at Hutchinson, KS where two of the boys and I will board for Chicago for #30 Bedroom E for Washington DC and then regional for Philadelphia. Wewill return on the 23rd with bedroom E again on #29 and two roomettes on #3...
