Oh for god's sake, climate change IS man-made. Just read the science. And the pax train issue is almost entirely a progressive/conservative divide. Less gov't spending and less involvement in infra-structure is one of the perennial planks of the current Republican party. As is distrust of science. George, your heart is always in the right place but I'm afraid you're not keeping up with the changing realities of US politics. Just my opinion, of course.

Spending in infrastructure creates jobs. Spending $1 Billion on infrastructure creates thousands of

jobs. In another article I had read that by 2035 the railroads will need $35 Billion just for infrastructure needs but will only be able to come up with about half of the money. A public-private investment in rail is needed. Doubling or tripling track, building stations and platforms, everything.
