With the exception of one #4 37 minutes late at Gallup, NM and one #524 also 37 minutes late at Davis, CA, all of Amtrak's trains west of Chicago are running less than 30 minutes late today. Even the delay-plagued EBs are all green despite bitter cold across the northern plains.

We usually post when things are amiss, but I think the occasional "all is well" post is in order...

Dang. I thought you were going to say all the western LDs were now environmentally friendly. :giggle:

It's actually pretty near green (and yellow) across the whole country! Of course the weather maps show virtually nothing anywhere except along the west coast. Not good for the mid-west drought. But , if the barge traffiic is stopped, rail companies will make a bundle.

west Coast is having some inclement weather at least east of the Cascades/Sierras, but even the CS is doing good. And the EB is keeping good time now, let's hope for the best when things warm up!

Below average snowpack from the Rocky mountain front to the Great Plains, so unless things get cranked up big time over the next couple months, which is always possible, but less likely with each passing week, it looks like another below average year for flooding in the midwest, which hopefully will mean the EB's and other midwest LDs may have a reasonable opportunity to run much of their normal schedules this Spring.
