The eastbound EB was two hours late getting into St. Paul last Monday (30 November). We heard rumors of some sort of water problem in Portland. Does anyone know about this?

We always bring our own bottled water and the restrooms seemed to be working okay. We were bummed that this was our second short hop on the eastbound EB (STP to CHI) and both times it has been two hours late--making for a rather quick jaunt to the other side of CUS to catch the Wolverine.

All in all, we had another great Amtrak experience over the Thanksgiving weekend. The cars did not seem to be as crowded as our Christmas trip a year ago. The train attendants in the "Minneapolis/St. Paul) care were very friendly and helpful.

there is another thread on this. the water problem is that portland found e-coli in the water so any trains that took on water there had to have there tanks drained bleached and rinsed.
