I don't know if this is interesting to anyone in the universe other than me, but yesterday's #14 (left Los Angeles Saturday morning) had to do a bit of a shuffle south of Portland, onto what I presume is a dead-end siding because there was a freight in the other siding, so that the southbound #11 could go by, then #14 had to back back onto the mainline. It did this with a conductor at the open door at the rear of the train, and we happened to be sitting in that last car (4th of four coaches). I thought it was pretty neat to experience, and I took a video.

 
I had that experience sitting at the very back of the last coach on the City of New Orleans backing into New Orleans. The conductor greeted each of the employees out on the station platform as be called the location of the train in on the radio.
