We are taking a cruise this summer and our evening train from Vancouver to Seattle is not until 5:30pm (getting off the ship at 8am).

Is there anything to do within walking distance of the Amtrak Vancouver Station?

Restaurants, things to do or see, shopping, etc?

I believe you can store your luggage at the station. You can take the sky train to downtown shopping area or plan a visit to a tourist sight. Look up Vancouver in trip advisor to find a list of attractions and reviews.

The Skytrain itself is a tourist attraction and offers some great views of the city and the surrounding mountains especially over to the northshore….even some of the bridge crossings are pretty impressive.

Get a DayPass which is also good on the SeaBus (ferry) over to North Vancouver for a view of the skyline from the harbour.

Most of the Skytrain route is on elevated structures except in the downtown area where it is underground. The Skytrain tracks have been double-decked through the former CPR Dunsmuir Tunnel that once provided a route from the station on the waterfront to the passenger car servicing facility and roundhouse at False Creek.

Skytrain's Canada Line is also underground a portion of the way but then soars over a bridge on the way to the Airport and Richmond.
