usa railpass question

Hello,

I'm going to purchase a USA railpass for my upcoming trip. Do I have to go to a an amtrak office to pickup my railpass, or can I get my railpass emailed to me? After I obtain my railpass, I can then start booking my segemts? I'm a little foggy on the procedure .

I may be wrong, but if you buy the pass online, you get a confirmation email. The email also has your pass number. Once you get the email, you can phone and book your "segments", quoting the pass number. You do need to state where you will pick up the pass when you purchase it. The pass and tickets must be picked up before you travel.

Since the advent of "e tickets", you might fimd the agent can email your tickets to you, but you still need to collect the pass...
