train trip (hanging out in lounge?)

Hi, taking our first l/d trip N.Y. - Orlando, just wanted to know other than your bedroom are there any place on the train you can sort of hang out after dinner or if you can't sleep or do you have to stay in your bedroom?

You can go to the lounge, which has booths. If the train is not sold out they may or may not let you sit in a coach seat.

Keep in mind that the Silver Star has no diner - just a cafe car. The Silver Meteor has both.

Also take advantage of the two longer station stops (Washington and Jacksonville) to stretch your legs on the platform--just stay near the train so they do not leave you behind!
