According to this thread, there are three private cars on Amtrak #6(22). This eastbound California Zephyr should be in Denver tonight (June 23) and arrive in Chicago tomorrow.
Just saw the private varnish on the train during its stop at Ft. Morgan, Colorado, running about a half hour behind. Lotsa great lightning action around here!
Some lightning action around here made film from the inside of my vehicle. #6 is running five hours late due to the storms it has encountered. The three private varnishes are behind the engines since the train only went to Reno. The cars are the sleeping car Silver Rapids, dome carSilver Lariat, and Santa Fe sleeping car Palm Leaf.
Caught a quick glimpse of this train earlier in the day (23 June) in Glenwood Canyon, a few minutes after leaving Glenwood Springs, CO on time. Looks like the regular consist was running "backward", having not been turned on the Sparks (NV) wye the day before on one of the last "shortened" runs of #5 that terminated in Reno, NV.
