Tomorrow morning by train (ICE) from Nijmegen to Düsseldorf, Germany and then from there to JFK. The real journey starts next Sunday on the Maple Leaf and will ultimately bring us to LA. At least as far as Amtrak is concerned. From LA we'll drive all the way back to Miami and fly back from there to Düsseldorf on Oct. 16. So you can expect a full report here on Oct. 17 :lol: . (Since this is supposed to be a holiday I'll leave my laptop at home).

I'm very, very grateful for all the advices, hints and tips I've received on this forum, especially about the do's & dont's on Amtrak and the US. In particular I render thanks to AlanB, Jim Hudson, Alice and Jesse Smith, a few of whom I hope to meet in the days/weeks to come.

Since I'm already here in the U.S., the real journey for me would be on the ICE. That thing is as sexy as an FA-18 Hornet! Have a great time here!
