Sunset Limited: Maricopa to New Orleans?

IIRC as long as you remain inside the New Orleans' Magnolia Room First Class Lounge to await your train departure as directed by Amtrak staff, they will come in prior to general boarding and personally escort you out to the train so you can board first. If you choose to wander off, or sit on in the main waiting room, you are on your own and have to board during the general boarding call.

Thanks! We’re taking the Sunset Limited mid-November, We knew we could use the lounge, but didn't know they would come get us and escort us outin advance. We thought we’d be on our own in NOLA, since questions about red cap is murky at best, mostly hearing it isnt available. Nice to know at least this service is available.

The Amtrak Agents in New Orleans have a Golf Cart and will take those needing a Ride to/from the Train ,but it's a very short distance from the Boarding Gate to the Train,easy to walk to the Short Sunset Consist, unless you have lots of Baggage.
