I had a day off so I figured why not try to go spot 58 and 59?
58 blasted through the Williams Blvd. crossing in Kenner at 1:59pm doing 60mph or so....faster than usual that's for sure. After she past I went and got a soda and returned at 2:45 to catch 59 pass. 59 was running about 20 minutes early.
Both trains had the same consist: 1 loco, 1 baggage, and 7 Superliners (3 coaches, lounge, diner, 2 sleepers).
Engine 50 was pulling in 59. I didn't catch which power was pulling 58 along today.
Good looking trains! All of 58's Superliners except for one were in the new scheme. 59 was the exact opposite...just one was in the new color scheme.
