Spokane has had such a rich history in railroading, with six different lines running through the city, that it's disappointing there is no railroad museum of any sort. The railroads made Spokane what it is. There is one in the works about 30 miles west of Spokane, but at the present all there is on the site are a few dilapidated railroad cars on a siding. The nearest rail museum of any sort is in Wallace, ID, about 80 miles from Spokane. It is very small and includes a few miscellaneous small artifacts. Nothing very exciting. Another museum in Wallace is much more interesting: one dedicated to Wallace's rich history in another industry -- hookers.
