Amtrak offers discounts on coach fares akk the time, but it's been many, many, many, many moons since a discount has been offered on a sleeper. With the demand, there is no need to discount then!

You just have to find a date with a low bucket. Don't recall ever seeing a promotion on sleeper accomodations.
