This is an interesting idea to try and increase ridership. If anyone is looking for a points run to Harrisburg you can come see the farm show of the Eastern Sports and Outdoors Show by train!

BenjiBear, do you know about the "special" PA vehicle tags/license plates for some RR organization? I saw one here in DE yesterday.

Thanks for the info. I live in DE, so can't get one. Plus I already have a special tag here in DE. I pay annual "dues" dirctly to the organization in order to keep the tag (pd extra the 1st year so the tag could be made). My "old" tag is still assigned to my car & I have to keep it in the car.

Great promotion! Especially since it solves the problem of how to get from the Amtrak station in downtown Harrisburg out to the suburban-ish location

of the Farm Show Complex. There is a regular transit route between the two, but it only runs hourly, and not at all on evenings and weekends. The shuttle

schedule to the Farm Show makes for nice day-trips from points such as Lancaster or Philly/suburbs.

$15 per plate, annually I believe, goes to PA museums.
Its a one-time fee of $35, of which $15 goes to the organization.
IF it's like DE, then there would still be the $15/year to the organization.
But its not DE, its PA. And in PA, its just a one time fee of $35.

I bought my RR plate several years ago. I paid the $35, and haven't had anything beyond the regular yearly registration fee since.

Ok. Seems a shame though, because the organization could be could be getting "donations" each year.
