On the Southwest Chief again soon.

Hi - We'll be on the Lake Shore Limited, Southwest Chief round trip to L.A., then The Cardinal to D.C. and the Northeast Regional back to Boston- starting next week.

Looking forward to the Southwest Chief before it (possibly) has a route change. Raton is still one of our favorite places to be on a train.

Will be our first trip on the Cardinal.

Will take notes and report back on our 6th cross-country Amtrak journey!

Hope you have a great trip. Other than some nice scenery, I think the Cardinal may be a bit of a let-down. At least it has in my experience. I will be trying out the LSL in March for the first time.

Hi jb64- We hope the Cardinal will have some good scenery. Have taken the Capitol Limited and the Lake Shore Limited, so wanted a change of scenery.

Like so many train folks, would like to travel on every route.

We used to hike in Shenandoah when we lived in VA. Beautiful.
