Will I be able to check a bag From OKJ - LAX (San Joaquin)?

Will I be able to check a bag From OKJ - LAX (San Joaquin)? RF

According to the Amtrak website, the San Joaquin does have checked baggage, so it can be checked at OKJ.

But my question is how it is transfered to the bus at Bakersfield for the rest of the trip. Does Amtrak do that or does the passenger have to transfer it themselves?

FYI: The Sufliner is the same, it has checked baggage according to Amtrak.

In my experience, luggage checked through is taken to the buses by Amtrak and claimed in Los Angeles (or where ever it is going).

If it makes your feel better, check your luggage early enough to take the Coast Starlight.
