Hello, Dave Huffman here. I live less than 100 yards from the IC - CN main just north of Champaign IL. Been a rail fan all my life.
The City of New Orleans hit a car just north of my house on Saturday night & when he got stopped the engine was directly in front of my place. I shuttled some of the emergency responders down the tracks from the crossing on my ATV as there is wet ground on either side of the tracks .
The car that went around the gates ended up being about 2 feet wide & stuck on the front of the engine like a bug. The driver was DOA. Also he was drunk & awaiting trial on another DUI charge.
