The brush fire in Milford is dangerously close to the tracks (See photo here: http://www.ctpost.co...ice-3469582.php)

Amtrak has apparently suspended service (http://twitter.com/#...514540076122112). So has Metro North between Stratford and New Haven (though not Waterbury branch, which runs a diesel from Bridgeport through the Housatonic wye in west Milford up the Naugatuck River to Waterbury).
yes,it has been a dry spring here. fortunately, there is a forecast for showers on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon. This will be a welcome relief

Due to the lack of rain. Brush and mulch fires have been high this spring. Not to mention the chances they happen are greater at this time of year. Personally I've seen nothing like it. Last night a simple call for rubbish turned into a 5 alarm building in the city, after the fire was under control the City of Philadelphia lost two firefighters when the building collapsed. So wind and the lack of rain is a very big thing right now for causing brush, mulch, and rubbish. So think twice about flicking that cigarette or cigar out of the car or into the street. :) It could cause something like that in the article. :(
