The temporary changes that applied to the PALMETTO, CAROLINIAN, and SILVER STAR since April are over. Normal service should be operating on all lines.

This means:

  • Train 92, the northbound SILVER STAR, is operating on the schedule shown in the April 25, 2005 timetable. It has resumed the dogleg trip between Auburndale and Tampa, serving Tampa once and Lakeland twice.
  • Trains 79 and 80, the southbound and northbound CAROLINIAN, are once again operating between New York and Charlotte 7 days a week. Also once again available is Train 079, the southbound Regional service offered as part of Train 79. (Train 80 does not carry local passengers north of Alexandria.)
  • Trains 89 and 90, the southbound and northbound PALMETTO, are once again operating between New York and Savannah 7 days a week. Trains 1089 and 1090 are discontinued.
  • Thruway buses 3089 and 3090 between Richmond and Rocky Mount are discontinued.
  • Thruway buses 6291 and 6292, the PALMETTO replacements in Florida, are once again operating between Jacksonville and Lakeland, connecting with the SILVER STAR at both stations. During the trackwork period, they were only running between Jacksonville and Dade City. Once again it is possible to travel between Southeast Florida and points along the bus route without going all the way up to Jacksonville.
  • Thruway bus 6092, the Fort Myers-Tampa bus that was temporarily extended to Winter Haven to connect to Train 92, once again terminates in Tampa.
  • Thruway bus 6392, the temporary Winter Haven-Tampa bus that connected from Train 92, is discontinued.
These changes are reflected in Amtrak By The Numbers.
