Michigan trains

What dose it mean that a p-42 has to be a train control unit to work Michigan? Also do the NPCU always

run on th east bound end?These are probably pretty simply questions but I an new to Amtrak as I

rode for the first tine last year and loved It

All Michigan train engines have to be set up to run on the Amtrak line between Kalamazoo MI and Porter IN which is a special computer to barke the train in case the engineer fails to reduce speed this is so Amtrak can run the 95 mph.
