The City of San Fernando has about two miles of UP track with Metrolink and freight traffic. SFPD gave us a briefing (complete with detailed pictures) on pedestrian/train deaths. In the 90's they were averaging 3 or 4 a month. Unofficially they believed that they were all suicides, maybe one a year was an accident.
