When I lived in San Diego, a lot of train caused pedestrian deaths were thought to be suicides.
The City of San Fernando has about two miles of UP track with Metrolink and freight traffic. SFPD gave us a briefing (complete with detailed pictures) on pedestrian/train deaths. In the 90's they were averaging 3 or 4 a month. Unofficially they believed that they were all suicides, maybe one a year was an accident.When I lived in San Diego, a lot of train caused pedestrian deaths were thought to be suicides.
