The local newspaper took Amtrak to task again today over the condition of the station.

Amtrak states improvements - i.e. the need to repair the plaster and paint - is "fast tracked" and will be completed in 2014.

In an unusual move, the editorial actually compliments Norfolk Southern for having built a new freight yard from scratch

at a brownfield site in less time.

It's laxative time for the America's Railroad small group of dopes that are fumbling around with this station. I agree that this station can be so much better, for example, in the immense space it has that can be used for a cafe or deli (given that most of the trains except the Pennsylvanian don't have a food car).
