Kansas City Baggage question

In September I'm taking the SWC #4 from Kansas City to Chicago.

According to the timetable, it has a "checked baggage" symbol for Kansas City.

However, on the Kansas City station information page, it states "No Checked Baggage Hours"

and when I go into the reservations page and type in KCY to CHI, the checked baggage symbol does

NOT show up on within the amenities listing for that train.

Can anyone tell me if Kansas City has checked baggage or not for the SWC?

Usually, Kansas City has Checked luggage.... However, the freight elevator was broken the last time I traveled (mid June) and at that time Checked Luggage Service was suspended. If the website still shows no checked baggage hours and doesn't have the baggage service symbol on the reservations page, I would assume that either the elevator is still broken, or they forgot to update the website once it was fixed.

To get the most up to date status, it would be a good idea to call Amtrak at 1-800-USA-RAIL.
