Just joined today after visiting for a couple of months as a guest.

Found this site doing research for an upcoming train trip and now I visit the forums everyday.

The wife and I are going out to Whidbey Island, WA this coming March, via The City of New Orleans and The Empire Builder, to visit our first grandchild.

She don't do airplanes and I've always wanted to take a long distance train trip.

I'm from Jackson TN, a big railroad town back in the day and home to Casey Jones.

Congrats on the grandchild, and on the trip out there. It should be great. I'm almost a neighbor....I live near Clarksville, TN. Been to Jackson many times, and of course to the Casey Jones museum there.
