BATON ROUGE, La. A group of rail and mass transit organizations hopes to begin twice-daily rail service between Baton Rouge and New Orleans.
A spokesman for the Department of Transportation and Development says the proposal is designed to allow New Orleans residents who have relocated to Baton Rouge to get back to work, as well as ease gridlock on I-10.
Cleo Allen say they are asking the Federal Emergency Management Agency to subsidize the service to the tune of at least 25 (m) million dollars over three years
