That is good news. When I was in Niagara Falls, ON last month, the server at a cafe told me that many non-tourists avoid coming into Niagara Falls because parking is horrible. (I walked from my hotel in Niagara Falls, NY to the American Falls then across the Rainbow Bridge into ON)

Nice to see it's finally official. Next phases should be 2x daily, then 4x daily extensions of existing frequencies. Although most of the current announcement was known in advance, the timing to coincide with the bustitution of the Maple Leaf is interesting. As jls advised a few days ago, that part is also now official per VIA. While the current GO times don't meet the Maple Leaf in either direction, one has to wonder about the future either by adjustment or addition. Coordinating schedules may permit up to 3 Toronto - New York frequencies daily without any trains actually crossing the border.
