Hi fellow Amtrakers:
A group of amtrak riders on the northeastcorridor running from Albany and points north down to NYC is working up a petition to try and get Amtrak to reconsider the decision to eliminate the food service cars on this line.
The daily commuters (and there are quite a few of us) depend on our friends who work the food service, the weekenders wouldnt ride amtrak if it wasnt for this amenity when they travel upstate (it is actually cheaper to drive!) and we all kind of think it stinks.
We realize that economizing is necessary for Amtrak, but feel it is shortsighted to hit this service first. We want to keep the food cars:
