I find cargo shorts or cargo pants holds EVERYTHING - wallet, phone, camera, spare phone cable and charger... even a small water.
I’m new at this too three great trips TE CZ SWC and three .LSL... all in Coach about 225 hours / just one incident:
My first cross country was Tucson to NYP. There was a guy that was talking with the women across the aisle - in Coach half hour at a time - finally half way to Chicago the conductor told him to stay in his assigned seating - which worked. He tried the same thing Chicago to NYP and the woman had him figured out and moved to another Coach.
