A special Amtrak train roared through Towanda at more than 100 mph Wednesday (October 23) as part of an ongoing test of high-speed passenger rail service in Illinois, according to a report by Kurt Erickson that appeared in the Bloomington-Normal Pantagraph.

Now, if they could do something about the 80 minutes it takes to cover the 37 miles from Chicago to Joliet, and also from Alton to St. Louis. :D
