Fall Schedule Changes

I have a cell phone with internet access, a fairly new Virgin Mobile/Qualcomm pre-paid deal. I can partially get Amtrak, but not enough to check schedules and buy tickets.

Basically, I like print and I hope Amtrak continues issuing paper schedules for a long time.

Advertising---By reading the schedules, I often find about trains I could take instead of Greyhound or Chinatown or Megabus.

I wish I could comment decisively about the costs of printing, but I can't. I imagine it costs a few cents per piece to produce the timetable booklets, and probably a fraction of a cent per piece for single-route/leaflet-style schedules.

There's still a place for printed schedules.

There's another reason to keep printing the paper version. I allways have a copy with my on the train to check times to see it the train is running on time.
