We will be leaving Chicago in a sleeper on the LSL in a week or so and I was wondering if they were still loading people out of the Metropolitan lounge if the train was late. I seem to remember that the reason they early-boarded sleeper passengers was so that they could close the lounge early. With the current delays, am I correct in assuming that the train is late getting to the platform as well as late departing? Are sleeper passengers shooed out of the lounge and sent to general boarding? Any up to date information would be appreciated. Thanks

Our train got into Chicago late, but we still waited in the 1st Class lounge for out LSL train. We were taken to the train first and then the Coach passengers. I have to say, my wife and I really enjoyed our Rommette so much better on the LSL than the Empire Builder, the upper bunk has its own window and each room has its own toilet and sink, we could have done without those and it would have had more room.

Have a Great Trip!

I have boarded a late LSL in CHI. We didn't board until about 9:30. We all stayed in the lounge until it was time to go and then we were escorted from the lounge to the train.

Thanks Ringfinder and Amamba. I wasn't sure if they still boarded early since the wine and cheese, I think, is scrapped. I never did the wine and cheese, but we appreciated boarding early, and they even let me go to the club car to buy a beer. It will be interesting to see if they feed us dinner if the train is 4 hours late into New York. We'll make sure to bring extra food, just in case.
