There is much talk of new rail service to Duluth MN from the Twin Cities (and through a casino in between).

What word on this from here, and why isn't Amtrak involved?

I know how things go in Minnesota, and probably elsewhere too, they spend millions of dollars on studies, then it gets shelved for a while, then they spend millions more, shelve it, talk about it some more, hire some consultants, spend some millions, think about it, go on TV about it, endlessly.

However! If and when they build this rail service I would come home to ride it! They ought to do it, everyone would love it.

Ah Gee you just described Oahu, been going on for 30 plus years.

Aloha

I am really hoping that the presence of the casino as a destination en route pushes this from daydream proposal forward!

(WICT 106, I know how to use the search function and did use it before posting. The posts you list largely talk about the dead train line from twenty years ago. Those posts are interesting to a train-fan like me, but irrelevant to my question. The conditions of twenty years ago don't explain today, do they?)
