Detroit to Chicago

Taking a west bound commuter from JXN to CHI soon with family (incl. kids) and looking for any advice on coach seating. Our Friday trip leaves at about 11am so not sure what to expect in terms of how full it will be, how likely we'll be able to sit together, how much time we should get to the (very small) station to get a decent seat, etc. TYIA

It may help to know how many kids ... number in family/group.

There is a difference in finding seats for a family of 4 compared to a family of 8

When I’ve taken the Michigan trains they’ve been pretty full. I’d guess it’s gonna be hard to find even 2 seats together, but you may get lucky.

Yeah, there will be 6 of us (3 + 3) so we'll be prepared. Just don't want the kids sitting with strangers.

I can tell you as an adult I’ve been seated with strangers kids on that very train! (I usually take business class but it was sold out on that trip.)
