There was some discussion some time back about if the "El" ever connected to CUS. While looking through some old tables for the WAS-STL topic, I found this old map of Chicago stations that may be of interest. Note there is an El line that went right to CUS. I remember riding that in the 50's and 60's. I think it was taken down when the Blue Line was put in. Would be nice if it was still there.
