From Philadelphia, PA Business Journal, 10/4/05:

A group of Philadelphia-area executives said Tuesday it is getting behind the Passenger Rail Investment and Improvement Act of 2005, a U.S. Senate bill that aims to improve the infrastructure and operations of Amtrak's Northeast Corridor.

Congress is out on break, and Amtrak is being funded under a continuing resolution.

Correct.

Right now, Amtrak is being funded for FY 06 at the House-approved funding level. It's somewhat less than what Amtrak got last year, but at around $1.125 billion, it's a lot more than the administration would have them funded.

S.1516 calls for around $1.4 billion, I think, but does some other things for capital projects, so that's why I'm not sure.
