The ongoing construction activity at the Berkeley Station platform is nearing completion. Beginning Thursday, June 2nd 2005 all scheduled Capitol Corridor trains will receive and detrain passengers from one car of the train on a new portion of the recently constructed platform. We apologize for service delays and any inconvenience associated with this project. For more information on current construction projects, click here.

Wi-Fi On Board Capitol Corridor Trains
Wireless Internet (Wi-Fi) is on board the Capitol Corridor! Wi-Fi allows passengers to check e-mail, chat online, and enjoy digital entertainment or surfing the Internet from the comfort of the train. Capitol Corridor currently offers Wi-Fi in a limited capacity as part of a pilot program. For more information and to check the schedule for when the wi-fi car will be on your train, visit the Wi-Fi page on http://www.capitolcorridor.org/ .
Fare increase Effective May 31st
Effective May 31st, there was a fare adjustment for the Capitol Corridor. As part of Amtrak’s national summer fares tariff, prices for Capitol Corridor one-way and round-trip tickets increased to summer peak season fares effective May 31st.
Additionally, as noted in our Public Workshops earlier this year, multi-ride ticket prices also increased 5%. Click here for an updated fare chart.

Service Changes Effective June 6, 2005
- New Station: Oakland Coliseum (OAC) – service will begin to this station on June 6 with 12 daily trains, just in time for summer baseball action and getaways via Oakland International Airport! The new station is located at 600 73rd Avenue, off San Leandro Street, and between the Oakland Arena/McAfee Coliseum and the BART Coliseum/Oakland Airport station.
- Motorcoach service between Auburn and Grass Valley will be transferred to local transit service, Gold Country Stage’s Route 5/Highway 49 Express. As part of this transfer, the current motorcoach stop at 301 Sacramento Street (across from Express Mart) in Nevada City will no longer be served.
- Route 21A motorcoach service between San Jose and Monterey will be eliminated. Existing stops in Gilroy and Salinas on Route 21A will be picked up by Amtrak’s Route 21B motorcoach service.
- Trains 544 & 744 will now depart at 5:48pm instead of 5:40pm.
