For traveling the CS on 9/18, there is only one Bedroom still available (LAX-SEA). I called AGR, and learned that it's the dreaded Bedroom A, and in the sleeper furthest away from the PPC. (Bedrooms are fully sold out for the two days before and one day after the 18th.)

The question: if I book this less-than-optimum room, and then continue monitoring to see if another room opens up before travel day, does AGR allow me to call and switch bedrooms?

I know, my bad for not planning further ahead. Anybody else have challenges wrestling decisions out of a teenager?

Thanks!

Yes, if a room opens up, you can call and change your room. Just watch availability on Amtrak.com.

As I learned from another Member when you do call to change make sure the Agent modifies your existing res rather than cancel and rebook. A good one should be able to get the change done in just a few seconds.
