Are the dining car menus updated?

We are taking the SWC in early August and Amtrak still has the menu dated 09-17 at their website. Will that change before August or probably stay the same?

Probably the same.

In the past national LD train menus updated every March. That didn't happen this year.

The menu you saw is the current menu.

I would have sworn that it usually updated in June and September.

I did see that. It looks like its going Creole heavy this time around.

The Food Facts listing for the SWC looks like the menu they were serving on all the western trains circa spring 2017. Is that really "updated" (as in, they reverted to that menu for that one train) or "forgot to update"?

As of my trip on the SL in early May, the menu was the same as is posted except for the "ACAT Inspired Special" on the dinner menu. Instead of the shrimp biryani, they had a sweet potato gnocchi dish that was really good.
