The June 27th NARP news stated:

"The Capitol Corridor management in California is planning a test run of a passenger train between Sacramento and Reno, as a way to gauge operating conditions and running times. The goal is twice-daily service to Reno by 2007, and, possibly, some form of seasonal ski train."

This follows suit with the CCJPA business plan (posted on www.amtrakcapitols.com) posted below:

"The CCJPA will continue working with Amtrak and Caltrans to increase train service levels on the Capitol Corridor. Caltrans has included the CCJPA in its development of the California Rail Passenger Program Report (FY 2000-01 - FY 2010-11). Included in the report is Amtrak's 10-year ridership and operations plan that identifies the CCJPA's goal of 32 daily trains in the corridor by 2011. The CCJPA will utilize the report to develop and implement its vision of bi-directional hourly service from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. and the extension of Capitol Corridor service to Reno/Sparks (via Truckee)."

Has anyone else seen or heard anything about this test train, or know when it is scheduled to run?
